Update on Sara ~ 10/14/08

Well, I went to visit Sara last night in the hospital. She is doing awesome! No fevers for three straight days now. She had her last dose of antibiotics last night and while she still has a PICC line, no IV attached at the moment. She is taking a pain medicine by mouth twice a day and doing really well from that standpoint as well.

They are discussing grafting next week. The leg continues to do well, they are just trying to get the skin granules to populate so when they put the graft on, it will have something to hold on to. She is walking several times a day to keep busy and to keep circulation going. Her doctors are really pleased with the progress.

As for the heart standpoint, apparently a murmur has made itself known all of the sudden, and they aren't terribly worried about it. No signs of infection or anything else wrong, so PRAISE THE LORD for that!

No idea of when she will be discharged yet, but she is hoping by the end of the month.

Please keep her in prayer as the doctors move to this next stage, and that she continues to have healing and good graft adjustment. Please also pray for Sara's son Jake. He is really upset with Mommy for not being around, to the point he won't even hug or come near her. This is hard for her, but she knows its not personal. Apparently the hospital has a program for kids to help explain what Mommy does all day and how to deal with Mommy not being home. She is hoping that will help. He also has a bout of flu right now, and Auntie Beth got it last night too, so pray that this goes away as well.

Thanks once again for your faithfulness!
